Chris O’Malley, a carpenter working on the concrete foundations at the site of the National Marae, in Pages Road, Aranui. The clerk of works for the project, Mr E. Conaglen, said that work was progressing favourably; it was hoped to have the steel portals erected in three weeks and roofing completed by the end of April. Mr Conaglen said that work on the interior would continue during the winter ana it hoped to have the building ready for the carvers and weavers by the end of September.
