PA Wellington A Porirua Hospital psychiatric outpatient drove a car up some villa steps and into a ward this week, narrowly missing other patients. A Ministry of Transport spokesman said yesterday that a hospital outpatient had smashed at “fairly high speed” into Villa Five about

4.30 p.m., but nobody had been injured. A “lucky” patient was sitting in a chair which was hit by the car and survived unhurt, he said. A tow truck took the car out of the ward. The- driver had formerly been a Porirua patient and was visiting a brother at the hospital with his father when he drove into the ward.
