Crewing criticised
PA.- Wellington The Opposition has criticised the bringing of two complete crews with the two deep sea fishing trawlers bought in Britain by Fletchers. .’The . Labour - Party's Sliadbw Minister fqr Primary Industries. Sir Basil Arthur, said yesterday he was astonished that 60 crew; members and their: families had apparently: been guaranteed two years; work and hoped to be
allowed to settle here permanently. The vessels' crews would be. mainly British with New Zealanders apparently limited to deck hand jobs. “Having spoken to many sections of the industry recently it also seems clear that there has been no real attempt to find out if there .are New Zealand fishermen with the right tickets and training who could be suitable crew." Sir Basil said.
