PA Wellington A Wellington schoolgirl. Karen Bisley. battled heavy seas and strong tides yesterday to swim Cook Strait in a record-equalling time. Miss Bisley. aged 16. swan the strait in 6hr 46min. the same time recorded by Napier's John Coutts three years ago. She slashed 13min off the women's record set four weeks ago by Sheryl McLay. also of Wellington.
