Tucson fancied again tonight

Special correspondent Wellington Tucson won so well on Monday evening that it seems unlikely he will be beaten in the Summertime Pace, the first leg of the double on (lie second night of Hie Manawatu Trolling Club's meeting at Palmerston North Illis' evening.

Tucson led lhe field a merry chase and sprinted away from his rivals in lhe straight on Monday. He will probably be better suited by the sprint distance of 200t)m this evening so will start a dominating favourite.

Lady W.ainui chased Tucson home on Monday. She was left without a trail for the last llUOni and battled very bravely to hold second With a better run this evening she could lest Tucson.

Sir Mark continues to race well and must rale a place chance again, as could Colossus Bay. which won in lower class on Munday. He was tried from behind and finished with a great late surge to take the honours narrowlv but well.

Selecting lhe winner of the .second leg. the Milson Wines Pace, is nut easy. Several runners in the small field look to have winning prospects.

Donne was narrowly beaten on Monday and from a handy draw could prove the hardest to head.

High Range provided the Senile training partnership of Foxion with their twelfth win tor the season when he won the final race-on Monday. He has drawn No. 1 tins evening and should be close throughout. High Card and Alan Bell were two others in the Milson Pace which raced well on Monday.
