Missing girl found
Rangi Ruru' Girls’ School pupil, Catherine Susan Latter, aged 15, who had been missing for six days, was found by the police yesterday on a train at Kaikoura. Several people had telephoned the police as a result of a story and a photograph of the missing girl in “The Press” yesterday morning, said a spokesman for the Papanui police. i One of the callers said he ! believed that the girl was
going to Wellington by train. The police boarded the train, found the girl, and returned her to her parents, who farm at Cheviot. The girl had left her grandmother’s home in Windermere Road, Papanui, last Saturday morning to meet freinds in Cathedral Square. She had telephoned her grandmother the next day to say that she was all right. She had not been seen or heard from after that.
