Z7X Ministry of Works xjl/ and Development STUDY AWARDS IN MECHANICAL OR ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING MINISTRY OF WORKS AND DEVELOPMENT has available a limited number of Study Awards for students who have successfully completed one or more years of the requirements for a BE (Mechanical) or BE Electrical degree. Applications will be considered from those students commencing their intermediate year in 1982 and intending to study for the BE (Electrical) degree. The award is available for each year of study during which a standard allowance of $7OO p.a. is paid in addition to any normal Education Department bursary entitlement. During the final year award holders may elect to be paid full salary as an alternative to the standard allowance and Education Department bursaries. Successful applicants would join the permanent staff of the Department and would be bonded for a period of service after graduation w’hich is dependent upon the amount of financial assistance granted. The Ministry of Works and Development offers a career with a wide range of experience and mechanical and electrical engineering, covering fields such as natural gas reticulation, radio communications, heating, ventilating and air conditioning, electrical reticulation and lighting systems for buildings design and purchase of mechanical equipment for large civil engineering works. Suitable practical work for BE is given and training for registration is provided after completion of the degree.
