WOOL BOARD PURE NEW WOOL TRANSPORT ANALYST THE BOARD’S TRANSPORT DIVISION has a small staff with large responsibilities in formulating and implementing freighting policy. This is a major industry involving over 2 million bales of wool with freight charges exceeding $lOO million per annum, and stretching from farm gate to overseas mill. The Division requires someone to analyse and evaluate current arrangements in the wool packaging, handling and transport systems, and assist in formulating policy with the general objective of improving the efficiency of the wool distribution system. Responsibilities include monitoring shipping programmes, analysing preshipment handling and transport costs, and administering tariff adjustments. Applicants should be graduates, preferably with experience in research and knowledge of statistics and basic accounts. Good communication skills are also required, but most importtant is the ability to systematically work through problems and indentify flow-on effects. Salary in accordance with experience.
