Islington men back
Meat workers at the Isl ington works of Waitaki N.Z. Refrigerating, Ltd, returned to work yesterday ’ after a two-day strike' in protest at the non-payment of “waiting time” last Thursday when meat inspectors went on strike for the day. The meat workers’ award provides for four hours “waiting time” to be paid, when workers are called for work but sent home, but the freezing companies say that they do not have to pay because they were . not warned when the strike • would occur.
