Cruelty to dogs
Sir,—K. Johnson is my ally. We reject cruelty to dogs, Filipino banana packers and plantation workers. These exploited people are taking steps to assuage suffering that is theirs — not ours. They explained their plight when I was in conference with them. I considered I should return home and relay the sad news. My ally (gained through your columns) has accepted the veracity of the information contained in my previous letter and will surely relate the facts to others. I can take further steps to support the Filipinos which are possible for me, but which my ally might find impossible personally, although taking others instead. Hopefully many readers might write to one such group of exploited plantation workers and packers, namely the workers of Stanfilco N.F.L., Roxas Street, National Highway, General Santos City, South Cotabato, Mindanao, Philippines. — Yours, etc., DENIS O’CONNOR.
