Exchange pilot to U.S.

Squadron Leader A. T. King, of Christchurch, will spend the next two years as an exchange pilot with the United States Air Force at the Little Rock Air Force Base in Arkansas. Squadron Leader King is an R.N.Z.A.F. Hercules transport aircraft pilot and will fly Hercules aircraft during his exchange. He will replace Squadron Leader T. K. Butler, of Morrinsville. Squadron Leader King joined the Air Force in 1966 and has served with No 42

Squadron at Ohakea. No 3 Squadron at Auckland and the pilot training squadron at Wigram as a flying instructor. In 1975 he was attached to the Republic of Singapore Air Force as a flying instructor and after his return to New Zealand continued flving instruction with No 14 Squadron at Ohakea. For the last two years Squadron Leader King has been flight commander of No 40 Squadron, the R.N.Z.A.F.'s Auckland-based Hercules and Boeing 727 squadron.
