Shot in tavern
The Christchurch police are looking for three men who fled the Marine Tavern, Sumner, on Wednesday evening, after a shot was fired in the bar.
An argument began between patrons in the bar just before 10 p.m. One patron left and returned with a .22 rifle and stood in the doorway of the bar. A shot was fired at the lavatories. The man, and two others, ran from the hotel and drove away in a dark-coloured Falcon car with two white side stripes, mag rear wheels, and an air scoop at the front.
The man who fired the rifle was described as about 20, slim, and fair-haired.
