Trading in Marac shares accounted for more than 25 per cent of the total ■ turnover of the New Zealand sharemarket yesterday. The price of Marac’s ordinary shares fell 20c to 220 c. the price offered by an unidentified buyer in the first-come, first- served bid for one million shares. Another buyer, who had forced the Marac price to 240 c on Wednesday, seems to have withdrawn 'j ; from the market. Trading was again active and firm. T. J. Edmonds lost 30c to 275 c. the biggest fall of the dav. The preference shares of Henderson and Pollard stood out with a 95c gain, and other issues to do well included Aurora,’Revertex, and Rex Consolidated. The N.Z.U.C. industrial index rose •s.2l'.points to close at 709.33.
