Two students from the School of Fine Arts at the University of Canterbury, Grant Takle (right), and Paul Dew, at work on a large mural they are painting on the wall of a building adjacent to the swimming pool at the New Brighton Primary School. They began the task at the beginning of December and expect to be finished by the end of next month. The mural, which has a water-safety theme, is the second that the two young artists have done at the school under the student employment scheme. Last summer they painted a Colourful beach scene on a wall of the school hall.
