Flyer heads off Ceramco
NZPA-Reuter Mar del Plata The Dutch sloop Flyer sailed into Mar del Plata yesterday, the first vessel to complete the third leg of the 41,600-kilometre Whitbread round-the-world yacht race. The 23-metre Flyer, commanded by Cornelius van
Rieschoten, entered port at noon (New Zealand time) completing a 23-day, 9760kilometre voyage from Auckland, second stop on the globe-circling voyage. The New Zealand yacht Ceramco. commanded by Peter Blake, arrived six hours later.
