Timaru on the mat

Timaru could be on the map, as opposed to on the mat, by Sunday, if the Christchurch group, Nude Wrestling, manage to get the city to indulge in its namesake.

The group, consisting of Annie Davies (saxophone and vocals), Leon Kearns (drums), Ross McDermott (bass), Nancy Kiel (keyboards and vocals), and Gary Verberne (guitar), will play at the Terminus Hotel, Timaru, this evening, and tomorrow and Saturday nights. Nude Wrestling are resident at the Imperial Hotel, Christchurch but have taken three weeks off to play down south. Besides Timaru, the band will play at Dunedin's Shoreline for two weeks.

Obviously Dunedin is more resistent to these new fads than Timaru, so it requires a little longer. Nude Wrestling could make stamp albums redundant.
