Radio stations closed
NZPA-Reuter Managua The Nicaraguan Government has closed two independent radio stations in the capital, Managua, for broadcasting news reports about the alleged incursion of Nicaraguan troops into Honduras. The stations, which broadcast the reports without having confirmed them with the Defence Ministry, were taken off the air “indefinitely," the Government's communications office said. The Government newspaper, “Barricada." quoted the Foreign Minister (Mr Miguel d’Escoto) as saying that Honduran allegations that Nicaraguan troops had entered that country and killed 200 refugees were "false and absurd."
