Mutiny rumour
NZPA-Reuter London The British Broadcasting Corporation said yesterday that it had received “persistent but in confirmed” reports that Polish troops had mutinied in southern Poland.
The troops reportedly “have refused to use force against strikers and aban-
doned their tanks,” a 8.8. C. television newcaster said. An American television crew from Columbia Broadcasting System said on arriving at London from Warsaw yesterday that they had heard rumours of a clash between soldiers and the police in a town 80km from Warsaw.
