Asthma trigger?
A popular additive used in cooking has been named as a possible threat to asthmatics. The latest “Medical Journal of Australaia” reported two women in Sydney suffered severe asthma attacks which the journal said were provoked by monosodium gluta- ■ mate. The substance occurs naturally in a number of foods including tomatoes and parmesan cheese and was - also present as a flavour enhancer in a number of spices sold commercially and in stock cubes used for preparing soup. — Brisbane.
