Tokelau coin issue
PA Wellington The Tokelau Islands have issued their fourth souvenir dollar coin.. The issue was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Mr Taiboys) who said that such souvenir coins were “one of the few avenues for New Zealand's last dependent territory to increase its own earnings." A limited issue of 6500 sterling silver proof coins at $29.75 will be made available, plus 7000 cupro-nickel uncirculated coins at $4 each. The Tokelaus comprise three isolated coral, atolls which total 1011 hectares. 480 km north of Western Samoa.
