Dairy deal with Soviet Union
Sir,—When Alan C. Willens goes on about Soviet lack of freedom and their propaganda he does not realise that he is bringing out his own propa-ganda-laden thoughts. Western propaganda about the Soviet Union is definitely as bad as theirs about us. Why bring Solzhenitsyn or Dostoevsky into the picture of Russia today? Why not forget the past and think about how we can get on better with our neighbours today instead of increasing tension and hatred? If we hang on to our old opinions and prejudice about a country (or a person) we are unable to see them with fresh eyes.—Yours, etc.,
S. RITCHIE. December 10, 1981
