Shirley B.H.S. gym funds
Shirley Boys’ High School has been given a $45,000 subsidy for its community gymnasium from the Community Facilities at Schools Scheme. More than $400,000 has now been raised towards the $455,000 cost of the gymnasium, which will have a fullsized basketball court, three volleyball courts, and four badminton courts. The Education Department has made a grant of $289,000, the community has raised $70,000 and the Christchurch City Council has given $5OOO.
