Hagley High School
Sir,—W’e would like to see no effort spared by Christchurch citizens to keep Hagley High School open after 1983, when it is threatened with closing for building requirements. The education programme offered at Hagley is broad in scope, catering well to the needs of the community, as evidenced bv the popularity of the classes.'The adult education programme gives a second chance to those motivated people who will be needed to rebuild New Zealand in. the ’Bos. Most important of all is the emphasis at Hagley on the learning about living through many new courses and activities. These are the products of
the outstanding vision of the educational needs of the future by the principal. Miss R. Heinz. Let us not wait till Hagley is closed, or till we read about Miss Heinz’s contribution to our future in her obituary, before despairing that we did not do our utmost to save the school for the benefit of its users and the community as a whole—Yours, etc., WILLIAM JERMYN, (Dr) President, Christchurch Parents’ Ppnlrp November 29, 1981.
