Injury to Tredeka Lass

A toe injury has forced the New Zealand champion, Tredeka Lass, out of the New Zealand Cup, the main staying race for greyhounds at Queen Elizabeth II Park, on December 18. Tredeka Lass, although untried over the 805 m distance, would have been Canterbury’s best hope in the final which is dominated by proven and in-form North Island stayers. Her replacement will be the Hamilton owned and trained, Kuri Kama, which finished third in the Duke of Edinburgh Silver Collar distance event in Auckland. The two dogs which beat him, Karamu Lass and Karamu King, will also be in the final.
