PA Wellington A man stood in front of the Duke of Edinburgh and shouted political statements at him during the visit of the Royal couple, the District Court at Wellington was told yesterday.. Daemon Shaw, aged 23, pleaded guilty before Judge Bathgale to behaving in a disorderly manner last October 16. He was represented by Mr Bruce Davidson and was convicted and remanded at

large for a probation report and sentence to December 18. Sergeant Max Grey, prosecuting, said that at 12.15 p.m. while the Queen and the Duke were walking in Wellington Shaw pushed his way through the crowd and climbed over a rope barrier. He stood in front of the Duke and shouted political statements at him. Shaw's actions prevented some members of the public from seeing the Duke.
