“The Year of the Yelvertons,” by Katherine O’Brien, is a children’s story set on a farm in Southland. Neil and Julie are the children about whom the story is based. Next door lives their old friend, Mr Mac. As he grows older, Mr Mac decides he can make a living from the farm without putting much work in to it. The hard-cover book costs $9.95.
