Clock in Square stopped
Christchurch could be without its digital clock and temperature reading atop the Government Life Building in Cathedral Square for several days. Mechanical problems caused the clock to display incorrect figures since Thursday last week. It was switched' off yesterday to avoid confusion. The assistant manager of The Government Life Office in Christchurch, Mr R. Hill, said yesterday - that it was taking longer than usual to find the problem. He was waiting for a serviceman’s report, but said that some parts might have to be replaced. '
