Zia wants to join
Pakistan wants to rejoin the Commonwealth, President Mohamed zia-Ul-Haq has said in an interview published in Hong Kong. “We would like to re-enter the Commonwealth but on honourable terms,” he told the Hong Kong-based magazine “Asiaweek.” Pakistan withdrew from the Commonwealth in January, 1972, when some of its members, including Britain, moved to establish relations with the new State of Ban-gladesh,-formerly East Pakistan. — Hong Kong.
