Good half for Odlins

The unaudited group net trading profit of Odlins, Ltd, rose 30.5 per cent to $3,028,682 in the six months to September 30, the directors announced yesterday.ln addition there were realised capital profits of $129,181 (last year $15,350). The profit figures are based on physical stocktakes, the directors say. No provision has been made at this stage for equity accounting. However, dividends totalling $14,225 (last year $109,225) received from associated companies have been included. It is expected that dividends from associated companies for the full financial year will be ahead

of those’ received last year and these are usually declared in the second six months.

Ordinary dividends paid to shareholders have increased in each, of the last two financial years, and the directors have decided that the interim dividend on ordinary shares should be increased from 6 per cent (3c a share) paid last year to 7 per cent (3.5 c a share) this year.

This dividend will be paid from capital reserves, and be tax-free in the hands of shareholders except for those who have elected to receive their dividends from revenue sources. . .
