Wounded man still serious

The young man who walked into Christchurch Hospital on November 17 with a .22 calibre bullet lodged in the stomach was still in a serious condition yesterday. Detectives had several times spoken to the man, Michael Emslie, aged 20, but had not established how the shooting happened, said a police spokesman. Mr Emslie had been reluctant to talk to the police, said a detective. A police search has been made of the injured man’s home, the “Black Power” headquarters in Woodham Road.
