Vandalism

Sir,—l am glad when women begin to take reponsibility for the world beyond their traditionally assigned “place” and in that sense I appreciate Ann Wildermoth’s letter on “vandalism” (November 21). I would like to ask her to look a little further now, to define “vandalism” in human rather than in male terms. “Destroying the beautiful” is one possibility. Does she then see any “vandalism” in the second smelter proposal or in any other male-contrived “Think Big” policy? And what about the laws enacted by our almost all-male Parliament, especially those imposing State control over female sexuality?—Yours, etc., RHONA THORPE. November 22, 1981.
