Comfortable win

A well-hit 59 from the High School Old Boys batsman, Peter Rattray, helped steer Cran Bull’s Canterbury eleven to a comfortable win over the province's Rothmans under-22 side at Burnside Park yesterday. Bull’s team batted first in the 66-over limited match and on a slow track put. on 211 for three. Rattray's effort, which included three'fours and a six, was supported by Vaughn Brown (54) and Paul McEwan (45).

The Rothmans side could manage only 127 for nine in reply, thanks largely to the efforts of Brown, who took seven wickets for 55 from 21 overs with his offspinners. Scores. Canterbury XI 211/3 (Rattray 59, Brown 54. McEwan. 45, B. Ritchie 32 n. 0., D. McMillan 1/39) beat Rothmans XI 127/9 (D. Boyle 25. M. Chamberlain 24; Brown. 7/55). .
