Syndication record

NZPA Sydney The brilliant five-year-old Opera Prince has been syndicated for a record Australian figure of $2 million. The stallion which will stand at the newly established Dalama Stud at Muswellbrook, will be spelled until early January when he will be prepared for autumn racing. It is planned to retire Opera Prince to Jim Koureas’ Dalama Stud in May, with the present owners retaining their major interest. ■ The previous record for an Australian-bred horse was the syndication of Best Western earlier this year for $700,000, although the current price for shares in Best Western takes his value to more than $6 million. Opera Prince is by the outstanding sire Bletchingly and the dam Opera Princess and won eleven races from 17 starts.
