Govt’s election film ‘recycled clips’
PA Timaru Recycled clips of an Air New Zealand tourist promotion film are being used by the National Party for its election campaign television advertisements, according to the president of the Labour Party, Mr J. P. Anderton. ~ The. election films show, scenes of sport, industry, and scenic beauty as part of the party's -message for New Zealand's future. Mr Anderton said that shots.such as one in which the camera apparently floats towards, a starry sun over a
thick cloud layer were extracts from an Air New Zealand tourist promotion film which had been made some years ago, ‘ • He said, “ft is New Zea- '' land the wav it used to be,” " The- Labouri 'Party had chosen a ... “comic strip” approach, in its television advertisements as a means of : attacking the election issues in.a stylised dramatic way? ' “A pictorial presentation can impress people much more than a half-hour talk.”
