School staffing
Sir.—As of November 16 only 34 per cent of graduating Christchurch Teachers’ College secondary trainees had obtained employment. The Auckland figure is' 33 per cent. The majority of vacancies for 1982 secondary teaching positions has already been advertised. Div. B3T,' kindergarten and
speech therapist trainees are in the same or worse position. The Labour Party has stated that it will employ all teachers. Social Credit promises to reduce staff-student ratios. What do the National candidates have to offer?— Yours, etc., R. M. SUGGATE. November 17, 1981.
