Now five Mitre 10 stores in Chch
With the opening of Collins■ Burns Mitre 10 in Christchurch tomorrow, there will be five independently owned Mitre 10 shops in Christchurch. Collins Burns will be by far the largest Mitre 10 in Christchurch' • occupying a . vast shopping area of 1860 sq m. It will stock the most comprehensive range of hardware, paint, kitchenware, outdoor equipment as well as home appliances. In addition, it will display a large range of china and fancy goods. There are plans to feature product demonstrations in a special demonstration display area. The Mitre 10 concept of independent hardware shops banding together to form a large buying group began in Australia. It was not long before the
idea spread to New Zealand. Today, there are 86 inde-pendently-owned hardware shops throughout New Zealand operating under the Mitre 10 banner. Each Mitre 10 owner is able to purchase on a New Zealand-wide bulk buying basis ensuring that he is able to sell to the public at the most competitive prices. The concept of Mitre 10 is attractive to customers because personal, friendly service and expert advice is encouraged through the individual ownership. All Mitre 10 staff members are thoroughly experienced and able to offer specialist advice on all the problems encountered in home maintenance.
