On Saturday, October 31, an 883 sq m residential section at 29 Plynlimon Road, was passed in at $42,000, but sold immediately after the auction for $45,000. The auctioneer was Mr N. Neumann, of Neumann Real Estate. On Friday, October 30, two of three industrial sections bounded by Opawa Road, Wilsons Road, and Brougham Street were passed in at auction. Lot one, 2689 sq m, was passed in at $65,000, and lot two, 1665 sq m, was passed in at $38,000. Lot three, a 660 sq m section with a “tidy” weatherboard house, was sold for $37,000. The auctioneer was Mr P. J. Cook. “Thornton Grange,” a 2.25 ha farmlet at 432 Sparks Road, Halswell, was passed in at auction on Tuesday at $186,000, close to the reserve. . The Government valuation
(1977) is $76,000. Included on the property are stables, a double garage used as a games room and with two extra bedrooms, a 4-bay implement shed, and four carports. The 15-year-old, colonial style house is built of Summerhill stone and has a tile roof. It has three double bedrooms, a large lounge and living room opening on to a sun deck, and two toilets, as well as solar heating. Mr R. I. Stark, of Wrightson N.M.A., was the auctioneer. A farmlet of 18.4 ha in Birchs Road, Lincoln, sold at auction on Tuesday for $265,500. The G.V. (1977) was $112,000, but the valuation was made while the house was under construction. The unimproved value was $68,000. The four-year-old, three bedroom house is built of Summerhill stone and has a
Decramastic roof. The grounds are landscaped. Mr G. Woodley auctioned the property for Binns, Barber and Keenan, and Pyne, Gould. Guinness. A hardware store, post office and weatherboard bungalow near the corner of Wairrakei Road and Greers Road sold at auction on. Tuesday for $90,000. The G.V. is $70,000. The 1070 sq. m of land is zoned Commercial, and the post office and hardware store have long-term leases. The house has two bedrooms and a sunroom, and is in average condition, according to the auctioneer, Mr P. J. Cook, of W. E. Simes.
