Soccer Many games postponed

NZPA-Reuter London The postponement of all but. two matches in the English First Division on Saturday because of England's World Cup match on Wednesday meant that the spotlight fell on the duel between Sunderland and Middlesbrough to haul themselves clear of the foot of the table. But neither side appeared to relish being the focus of attention. Their clash at Middlesbrough ended in a goalless draw, which was hardly surprising considering the pair have musteredonly 19 goals between them in 29 matches this season. Barnsley, playing some inspired football under the managership of a former England defender, Norman Hunter, leapfrogged the Sheffield side into fourth spot with a 4-2 away win over near neighbours, Rotherham.
