Rubbish at shop burns
Minor damage was caused to a Keystores shop in Hampshire Street, Wainoni, last evening, when a rubbish pile at the rear of the store was set on fire. The fire was seen at 11.20 p.m. by a neighbour, Mr L. H. E. Clare, of 24 Hampshire Street. He said that the burglar alarm was ringing when he noticed the flames.
Two fire appliances had the blaze out within 15 minutes.
The storeroom at the rear of the shop, which is in a block of about 12, was damaged, and the C. 1.8. last evening was treating the fire as “suspicious.”
