N.Z. yacht second
NZPA Portsmouth, England Ceramco New Zealand was reported to be lying second behind the Dutch yacht Flyer as entrants in the Round-the-World race head for Auckland. The New Zealand yacht also lies second on compensated time, behind the South African entry Xargo 111. The latest position showed Fiver 50.32 degrees south and 69.72 east on its way from Cape Town to the section's
end at Auckland. The nearest followers were Ceramco New Zealand, the E.E.C. entry Euromarche and Britain's FCF Challenger. On time Xargo 111 leads from Ceramco and the French yacht Kriter IX, winner on handicap of the Portsmouth-Capetown first leg. Gauloises 111 has had two spinnakers torn and another French vessel Charles Heidsieck has also had spinnaker trouble.
