This newly established unit with its base situated at Wakari Hospital Dunedin otters interesting and challenging work in a very pleassant setting. There is a well established modern day hospital. acute admission beds and long stay provision, and the service is integrated with the geriatric services situated adjacent to it. There is an established rotation of Registrars from the Otago Medical School Department of Psychiatry. The Immediate area of responsibility includes tne inpatient assessment ward, day hospital, domiciliary and outpatient services for the elderly with psychiatric problems. If suitably qualified, the successful candidate will be offered a University appointment and would be expected to take part in the department of Psychological Medicine's teaching programme. Salary will be in the Medical Officers Special Scale up to Grade 7 ($39,118 p.a.) or the Specialists Automatic Scale Grade 1 to 8 ($32,162 to 541.404 p.a.) commencing salary dependent on appointee's qualifications and background experience.
