Third blade success

The shearing pavilion at the Canterbury show was packed to capacity for most of the day yesterday for a great dav of shearing. The climax came at the end of the day when 44-year-old Donny Hammond from Timaru won the New Zealand open blades championship for the Caltex Golden Blades and a Wool Board gold medal. It was the third time he has won the championship and this year for the first time he has now won three major titles.
