McEnroe avoids rows
NZPA London John McEnroe, the Wimbledon and United, States Open champion, cruised through his opening match against Dorset’s John Feaver in the Benson and Hedges tournament yesterday. McEnroe won 6-1, 6-1, in
47 minutes and the controversial American stayed clear of any rows. He queried four line decisions, was overruled each time by the umpire, Georgina Clark, and accepted the decisions without further ado.
