Croquet title retained
Susan Grigg retained her open singles title at the Canterbury croquet championships, which ended on the Fendalton and Elmwood greens this week. The senior doubles was also won for the second successive year by Jack McNab and Marie Thompson. Results were:— Senior doubles.— J. McNab and Mrs M. Thompson 1: Mrs M. Foster and Mrs I. Baldwin 2. Open singles — Miss S. Grigg 1; J. McNab 2.
Women's singles.— Mrs Foster 1. Miss Grigg 2. Men's singles - W. Penman 1. McNab 2. Levels singles.— Mrs Thompson 1, Mrs E. Noy 2. Handicap singles.— Penman 1. W. Popkins 2.
