Jersey cows to the fore
PA Palmerston North A four-year-old Jersey cow won the champion all breeds title at the Royal Show at Palmerston North. Owned by the Tippett family. of Okaiawa. Lamorna Dazzlers Dove beat a strong field of cows from throughout NewZealand representing all the milking breeds. The reserve champion was another Jersey, Whariti Pets Louise, owned by D. J. Mcln--1 tosh, of Woodville. The all breeds class for two-year-old heifers was won by another Jersey. Brookvale Fair Veneer, owned by L. J. and C. A. Sigvertsen. ’of Eketahuna. Monserrat. ridden by Miss L. Baylis, of Levin, was judged the champion hack of the show; the reserve champion was the Hastings horse. Chiquita. ridden by Miss G. Plunkett. Hastings' Shelley Wells on Chantilly was judged supreme champion in the saddle ponies section. A Rahotu farmer, Ted Morrow, aged 76. and his heading dog, Jed. won another Royal Agricultural Society gold medal.
