Reserve plans dropped
The Heathcote County Council has dropped plans to buy land adjoining Victoria Park for use as a reserve. The council has been negotiating with the owner of the 54ha for months. The chairman of the council, Mr W. M. Hindmarsh, said yesterday that the council had decided to drop the proposal. “We have been looking at the matter closely and have decided to uplift the designation for a reserve put on the land,” he said.
