Linen flax factory sold

New Zealand’s last linen flax factory, at Geraldine, was sold at auction on Friday for $150,000 to an undisclosed Timaru buyer. A Christchurch auctioneer, Mr R. D. Brown, sold the

factory on behalf of Linen Textiles (N.Z.), Ltd. The 25ha property, about a mile south of Geraldine, includes five houses, an office, five barns, and other buildings associated with the factory.
