Public Notices COMMERCE ACT 1975 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY given that the Examiner of Commercial Practices has reported to the Commerce Commission on a takeover proposal, notified to him in terms of section 68 of the Act. This proposal concerns the acquisition by Ballins Industries, Limited of all the the liquor interests of Dalgety New Zealand, Limited except those situated at Wairoa and Jetty Point (Dunedin). The Examiner, in his report, expresses the view that certain aspects of the proposed takeover will have effects contrary to the public interest. His report concludes with the following recommendations: (i) I recommend that the Commission decline to consent to the proposal whereby Ballins would acquire all the wine and spirits interests of Dalgety except those situ-, ated at Wairoa and Jerry Point (Dunedin). (ii) I recommend that, pursuant to the’ powers under section 78(4) of the Act, the Commission consent to the acquisition f Ballins of the wine ar spirits businesses of Dalgb’ situated at Thames.
