England beats Wales in rugby league
A powerful second-half burst carried England to a 20-15 win over Wales in a rugby league international at Ninian Park, Cardiff, on Sunday. The scores were level at 5-5 at half-time, but England made its winning break soon afterwards. Powering forward at every opportunity. England scored three tries and led, 20-7, before a late Welsh revival earned two tries and cut the margin to five points. The only unbeaten first division side in Britain, Widnes, kept its perfect record. 24-7, at home to Castleford. The club with the biggest “Kiwi connection," Hull, retained second position by beating Leeds, 17-5.
