Seven overseas judges invited to cover show
Seven overseas judges have been invited by the Canterbury A. and P. Association to operate in several sectors during the show.
Mr and Mrs R. Mills will have travelled from England to Christchurch, where Mrs Mills, who is a very highlyregarded horse judge, will judge the Group A and Group C ponies. Her husband will judge Group B ponies. Australia is well represented, the remaining five visiting judges coming from there.
Mrs C. Montgomery, from Victoria, will judge the donkey sections. R. K. Summers (Tasmania) will judge Suffolk ewes, I. I. Bucknall (Victoria) the Poll Dorset ewes, and Mrs B. Maddison (Melbourne) the goats. Of special interest to Mer-
ino breeders, is the visit of Mr D. S. Vanrenen. A personal friend of the Canterbury association’s president (Mr T. M. R. Maskew), Mr Vanrenen is president of the Association of Stud Sheep Breeders of Australia and a past-presi-dent of the Australian Association of Stud Merino Breeders.
